  • 1 cup Milk dairy-free alternatives can be used
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese can substitute with medium cheddar
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese low-fat can be used
  • 2 tablespoons Scallions or green onions
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder fresh minced garlic can be used
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper adjust according to spice preference

For the Baguette
  • 1 20-24 inch Baguette ideal size for filling
  • 2 tablespoons Butter melted, for brushing

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Cook the breakfast sausages in a frying pan over medium heat until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Slice them into rounds.
  3. Hollow out the baguette by cutting a "V" shape into the top and gently pulling out the bread.
  4. Melt some butter and brush it generously on the inside of the hollowed baguette, then place it on the baking sheet.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, then stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, scallions, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the egg mixture into the hollowed baguette and top with the sliced breakfast sausages.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let the baked egg boats cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
