Step-by-Step Instructions for Best Pepper Steak
  1. Begin by slicing your round steak or venison thinly against the grain. Chop the small onion and bell peppers into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, garlic powder, and ground ginger to create a marinade. Pour over the sliced meat and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Prepare the glaze by mixing remaining soy sauce, sugar, garlic powder, and additional seasonings in a separate bowl.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sauté for 3-5 minutes until tender, then remove from skillet.
  5. Add another tablespoon of vegetable oil and then the marinated steak to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
