Preparation Steps

  2. Slice off the tops of the apples and scoop out the cores without piercing the bottom.
  3. Brush the insides of the apples with lemon juice.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  5. Fold in graham cracker crumbs and optional nuts until combined.
  6. Stuff the cheesecake mixture into the hollowed apples.
  7. Arrange the stuffed apples in a baking dish and drizzle with melted butter.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes until apples are tender.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until tops are browned.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving, optionally adding whipped cream.
