  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Fresh sautéed onions can be used.

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by peeling and chopping the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a pot, cover with water, and season with salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain and mash, adding salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat over medium heat and cook the ground beef, breaking it apart, for about 5-7 minutes until browned. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and vegetables if using. Cook for 2-3 minutes until tender, then drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, combine the beef with the cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and mixed well. Set aside.
  4. Shape mashed potatoes into cup-like shells, fill with beef mixture, and seal with more potato.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the potato shells for 4-5 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve hot, optionally with dipping sauces or a side salad.
