  • 5 cloves garlic Freshly minced preferred.
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes Can substitute with chopped canned tomatoes.
For the Cream Sauce
  • 3 tbsp butter Unsalted butter is best.
  • 2 cups heavy cream For a lighter version, use half-and-half.
  • 8 oz Gruyère cheese Substitute with melting cheeses like Monterey Jack.
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika Regular paprika can be used as alternative.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Dice onion, green pepper, and half red pepper; mince garlic; halve tomatoes; slice sausage.
  2. In a pot, boil salted water; cook fettuccine for 8-10 minutes. Reserve half a cup of water before draining.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet; season shrimp and cook until pink, 2-3 minutes. Set aside.
  4. Sauté sausage for 4-5 minutes until crispy; add veggies and cook additional 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in cream, simmer for 5 minutes; add cheese and smoked paprika, stirring until thick.
  6. Combine fettuccine and shrimp with sauce; adjust with reserved pasta water for consistency.
  7. Garnish with parsley; serve hot and enjoy.
