Preparation Steps
  1. Start by washing the fresh broccoli thoroughly under cool running water. Chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets. If desired, blanch in boiling water for 1-2 minutes and then plunge into an ice bath.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets, crispy bacon, red onion, cheddar cheese, sunflower seeds, and dried cranberries. Toss gently until well mixed.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad mixture, and toss gently. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
