Step-by-Step Instructions for Traditional Meat Pie
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and arrange one pie crust in the pie plate.
  2. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat and brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes. Add onion, garlic, and carrots, sauté for 3-4 minutes. Stir in flour, then add broth and Worcestershire sauce, simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Pour the meat filling into the crust, cover with the second crust, crimp edges, and cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape. Brush with egg or milk.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cover edges with foil if browning too quickly.
