- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat in a medium saucepan.
- Whisk in 2 cups of granulated sugar until smooth and then remove from heat to cool slightly.
- Beat in 4 large eggs, one at a time, followed by 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 0.5 teaspoon of salt.
- Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients using a spatula until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
- Lift the brownies out of the pan and cut them into squares or rectangles.
- Melt the candy melts and drizzle them over the brownies in a crisscross pattern.
- Sprinkle mini candy bows or holiday sprinkles on top and allow the decorations to harden for about 10-15 minutes.
- Arrange your brownies on a festive platter and serve to friends and family.
