Dough Preparation
- Combine warm milk, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar in a bowl. Let sit until frothy.
- Add flour, salt, melted butter, and egg. Mix until dough forms, then knead for 8-10 minutes.
- Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
Filling Preparation
- Mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.
Roll Out Dough
- Punch down risen dough and roll out into a 16x12 inch rectangle.
- Spread softened butter over the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Form Rolls
- Roll the dough tightly from the long edge into a cylinder and slice into 12 pieces.
- Place slices cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
Second Rise
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes in a warm area.
Bake
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
Prepare Icing
- Beat cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Finish
- Allow rolls to cool slightly, then drizzle icing over warm rolls.
