For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Greek yogurt can be a lighter substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon relish Chopped pickles can substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Yellow mustard can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar Honey can provide a different sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Fresh minced garlic can be used.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Fresh minced onion can be used.
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika Regular paprika can be used but lacks smoky flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper Use hot sauce to taste as an alternative.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Peel and slice the onion into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Drizzle with olive oil and Worcestershire sauce, then sprinkle with seasoning and brown sugar. Sauté over medium-low heat for 10 minutes on each side until browned and tender.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with Creole seasoning, divide into four portions, roll into balls, and flatten. Heat a skillet on medium-high and sear the patties for 2-3 minutes per side, adding cheese in the last minute to melt it.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine all ingredients for the sauce and whisk until smooth. This tangy sauce will enhance each bite.
  4. Assemble the burger by placing one caramelized onion round as the base, followed by a patty, sauce, and another onion round on top.
