Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and add penne pasta. Cook for 8-10 minutes until just shy of al dente, reserve about a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat oliva oil over medium heat. Add diced yellow onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  3. Add ground turkey to the skillet. Cook for 6-8 minutes until browned and fully cooked, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Sprinkle all-purpose flour over the cooked turkey, stir well and cook for a minute. Gradually pour in chicken broth and tomato sauce, simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Gently fold the drained pasta into the sauce, stirring in half-and-half and using reserved pasta water to adjust consistency.
  6. Mix in half of mozzarella and cheddar cheese until melted and creamy, then sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  7. Once cheese is melted and bubbly, garnish with fresh parsley and red chili flakes, and serve warm.
