Step-by-Step Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and add penne pasta. Cook for 8-10 minutes until just shy of al dente, reserve about a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat oliva oil over medium heat. Add diced yellow onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
- Add ground turkey to the skillet. Cook for 6-8 minutes until browned and fully cooked, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Sprinkle all-purpose flour over the cooked turkey, stir well and cook for a minute. Gradually pour in chicken broth and tomato sauce, simmer for 3-5 minutes.
- Gently fold the drained pasta into the sauce, stirring in half-and-half and using reserved pasta water to adjust consistency.
- Mix in half of mozzarella and cheddar cheese until melted and creamy, then sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
- Once cheese is melted and bubbly, garnish with fresh parsley and red chili flakes, and serve warm.
