  • 14 ounces diced tomatoes fresh tomatoes or tomato sauce also work
  • 1 medium onion or shallots, or omit for a milder taste
  • 2 cloves garlic use garlic powder if fresh is unavailable
For Creaminess
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream for a different touch
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese or pecorino Romano for sharper flavor
For Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil/butter

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Add pasta and cook until al dente, usually 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for 3-5 minutes until onions are translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart. Cook for 6-8 minutes until browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes and simmer on low for 3-4 minutes to blend flavors.
  5. Reduce heat to low and mix in Greek yogurt and grated Parmesan cheese, stirring for 2-3 minutes until creamy.
  6. Combine the drained pasta with beef sauce in the skillet, folding gently. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, taste and adjust seasoning, then serve warm garnished with extra Parmesan.
