Cooking Steps
  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-low heat until melted. Add 1 diced onion, 1 chopped celery stalk, and 1 chopped green bell pepper. Sauté for about 7-8 minutes until softened.
  2. Increase the heat to medium and add 1 pound of ground chicken. Cook for roughly 5 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning and 2 minced garlic cloves, stirring to combine.
  3. Pour in 1 can of crushed tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and hot sauce to taste. Mix well and reduce heat to low. Stir in 1/2 cup of heavy cream.
  4. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Adjust salt to taste.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the burger rolls on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Once ready, fill the rolls generously with the Cajun Chicken mixture and add optional toppings like pickles or cheese.
