Ingredients

For the Bites
  • 8 slices Prosciutto Essential for that salty, savory flavor and a crispy texture.
  • 12 ounces Mozzarella Balls Creamy and mild; substitute with bocconcini or burrata if needed.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Use extra virgin for a richer taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano Earthy notes that enhance the flavor; fresh oregano can replace it.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Offers savory depth; fresh minced garlic serves as an alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Use freshly ground for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Basil Optional; brightens the dish with herbal freshness.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Take out the slices of prosciutto and lay them flat on a clean surface.
  3. Drain the mozzarella balls and slice them in half if they are oversized.
  4. Place a mozzarella ball at the center of each prosciutto slice and wrap it gently.
  5. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add dried oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  6. Brush each wrapped mozzarella bite with the seasoned oil mix.
  7. Arrange the bites on the lined baking sheet, ensuring enough space for air circulation.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, monitoring to avoid burning.
  9. Allow the bites to cool briefly, then sprinkle fresh basil on top before serving.
