For Topping

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line a half-sheet pan with aluminum foil, greasing it generously.
  2. Rinse 1 cup of uncooked quinoa under cold water in a fine-mesh sieve, then spread it out on a towel to drain.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup of maple syrup, 1/4 cup of honey, 4 tablespoons of butter, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt. Microwave for 1-2 minutes until melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in the drained quinoa, 1 cup of finely chopped pecans, and 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds until fully coated.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly onto the prepared pan, ensuring a uniform thickness.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then rotate the pan and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle generously with flaky sea salt.
  8. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack for about 30 minutes before breaking into pieces.
