Ingredients

For the Pinwheels
  • 2 sheets Frozen Puff Pastry thawed overnight in the fridge
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon Mustard divided
  • 12 slices Deli Ham thinly sliced; about 10 oz
  • 2 cups Gruyère or Sharp Cheddar Cheese about 5 oz, grated
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley chopped

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper
  • Sharp knife
  • Spatula
  • Plastic wrap

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by thawing one sheet of frozen puff pastry overnight in the fridge. Once ready, place it on a lightly floured surface and roll it out into a 10x12 inch rectangle.
  2. Using a spatula, spread 1.5 tablespoons of Dijon mustard evenly across the rolled-out pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  3. Layer 6 slices of deli ham evenly over the mustard, followed by 1 cup of grated Gruyère or sharp cheddar cheese.
  4. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry away from you into a log, making sure it’s snug. Once you reach the end, press to seal the edge.
  5. Repeat the entire process with the second sheet of puff pastry, using the remaining Dijon mustard, ham, and cheese.
  6. While the logs are chilling, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. After chilling, remove the logs from the refrigerator and unwrap them. Cut each log into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  8. Bake the Easy Ham and Cheese Pinwheels in the preheated oven for approximately 18 minutes until they puff up and turn golden brown.
  9. Once baked, remove the pinwheels from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
