Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by thawing one sheet of frozen puff pastry overnight in the fridge. Once ready, place it on a lightly floured surface and roll it out into a 10x12 inch rectangle.
- Using a spatula, spread 1.5 tablespoons of Dijon mustard evenly across the rolled-out pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Layer 6 slices of deli ham evenly over the mustard, followed by 1 cup of grated Gruyère or sharp cheddar cheese.
- Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry away from you into a log, making sure it’s snug. Once you reach the end, press to seal the edge.
- Repeat the entire process with the second sheet of puff pastry, using the remaining Dijon mustard, ham, and cheese.
- While the logs are chilling, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- After chilling, remove the logs from the refrigerator and unwrap them. Cut each log into 1/2-inch thick slices.
- Bake the Easy Ham and Cheese Pinwheels in the preheated oven for approximately 18 minutes until they puff up and turn golden brown.
- Once baked, remove the pinwheels from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
