Step-by-Step Instructions for Homemade Cardamom Scones
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add cubed cold butter and pulse until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add cardamom extract, sour cream, and heavy cream, and pulse until a soft dough begins to form. Do not overmix.
  4. Shape the dough into a thick disk about 1 inch high, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Slice the dough into wedges or use a biscuit cutter for rounds and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Glaze the tops of the scones with heavy cream and sprinkle cardamom sugar over each scone.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
  8. Cool on the tray for about 5 minutes, then drizzle with the cardamom glaze.
