Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Activate the Yeast: In a medium bowl, combine ½ cup of warm milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 2 ¼ teaspoons of instant yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix the Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together 4 cups of flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, ½ cup of condensed milk, 1 egg, and 3 tablespoons of softened butter. Stir until a shaggy dough forms, then knead for 8-10 minutes.
  3. First Rise: Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes until doubled in size.
  4. Shape the Dough: Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or buns. Let rest for 15-20 minutes.
