  • 6 ounces Deli-sliced mozzarella cheese fontina makes for a more pungent flavor
  • 6 ounces Deli-sliced provolone cheese Swiss cheese is a milder option
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese Pecorino Romano works beautifully too
  • 1 cup Roasted red peppers, sliced fresh bell peppers can be used instead

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the Italian sub rolls in half lengthwise.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter and mix with garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Brush the seasoned butter over the cut sides of the rolls.
  5. Layer deli-sliced salami, ham, and pepperoni on the bottom half of each roll.
  6. Add mozzarella and provolone cheese, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Distribute roasted red peppers, black olives, and banana peppers on top of the cheese.
  8. Sprinkle fresh basil leaves on top of each sandwich.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  10. Slice the sandwiches into individual servings and serve immediately.
