  3. Dredge thick-cut bacon strips in the sugary mixture until fully coated. Lay on the wire rack in a single layer.
  4. Bake bacon for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking. Remove when golden and crispy, then let cool.
  5. Slice baguette diagonally and brush with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper, then bake for 8-10 minutes until golden.
  6. Spread goat cheese on toasted baguette slices, topping with candied bacon. Drizzle with maple syrup or honey.
