  2. Combine 1 cup of unsulphured molasses with 1 cup of water until well dissolved.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cloves, and salt.
  4. Create wells in the dry ingredients and add vanilla extract, apple cider vinegar, and canola oil.
  5. Pour the molasses mixture over the dry ingredients and mix gently until combined.
