Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 4 pieces Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs Chicken breast can be used for a leaner option.
For the Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce Substitute with tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1/4 cup Honey or Brown Sugar Maple syrup can be used for a unique twist.
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is a good alternative.
  • 1 inch Fresh Ginger Ground ginger can be used if necessary.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Fresh is best, but garlic powder can work.
To Thicken the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Arrowroot or flour can be substituted.
  • 1/4 cup Water
For Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil Olive oil or sesame oil can elevate flavor.

  • to taste Pepper
For Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Green Onions

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce by whisking together soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, rice vinegar, water, fresh ginger, and minced garlic in a small mixing bowl. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Stir to coat the chicken evenly in the sauce, allowing it to simmer.
  4. Mix cornstarch with a few tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Slowly add this to the skillet while stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot over steamed rice or alongside noodles.
