- In a small bowl, combine warm milk with a teaspoon of sugar and sprinkle in the yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Create a well in the middle and add the activated yeast mixture, eggs, vanilla extract, orange zest, and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough begins to form.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Allow it to rise for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently. Divide the dough into three equal portions, roll each piece into long strands, and braid them together. Place the braided dough in a greased baking pan.
