Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • electric mixer
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and granulated sugar. Use an electric mixer on medium speed to cream them until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients.
  5. Turn the dough onto a clean surface and divide it into three equal portions. Shape each into a round disk.
  6. Mix one portion of dough with strawberry powder and optional food gel. Blend matcha powder into another portion.
  7. Scoop out about 2 teaspoons of each color dough, press them side by side, stack them, and roll into a ball. Twist to create a marbled effect.
  8. Place the marbled dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them and flattening slightly.
  9. Bake for about 11 minutes, until just golden. Allow to cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
