Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Shortcake Latte
  1. In a small saucepan, combine diced strawberries, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes until the strawberries soften and release their juices, forming a syrupy consistency.
  2. Once the strawberries are cooked down, use a fork to mash them directly in the saucepan or blend for a smoother consistency. Set aside.
  3. In another saucepan, gently warm your choice of milk over medium-low heat until it's hot but not boiling. Froth the milk.
  4. Prepare a strong brew of coffee or espresso and pour into a large mug.
  5. Spoon the strawberry syrup into the bottom of your mug, then pour the hot brewed coffee over the syrup. Slowly add the frothed milk on top.
  6. Top with whipped cream, crushed graham crackers, and diced strawberries before serving.
