Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Crockpot BBQ Chicken
  1. Spray the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Chop one onion and scatter it evenly at the bottom.
  2. Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts on top of the chopped onions, ensuring they are laid flat.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Add smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Whisk until blended.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, ensuring all parts are fully coated.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until chicken shreds easily.
  6. Carefully remove the chicken and shred it into bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded chicken back into the sauce.
  7. Let the shredded chicken simmer in the sauce for 15-20 minutes on low heat to thicken and meld flavors.
  8. Serve on hamburger buns, over baked potatoes, or in salads. Top with coleslaw.
