Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped green onions, diced bell pepper, cilantro, minced garlic, salt, red pepper flakes, and lime juice. Mix thoroughly without over-mixing.
  2. With clean, wet hands, divide the mixture into four equal portions and gently form them into patties about ¾ inch thick, creating a slight indentation in the center of each.
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil, warming it for about 1-2 minutes until it shimmers.
  4. Carefully place the patties in the skillet and sear for about 2.5 minutes on one side until golden brown. Then flip and cook for another 2.5 minutes until fully cooked (165°F internal temperature).
  5. While the patties cook, prepare your salad by tossing mixed greens in a large bowl with olive oil, lime juice, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Serve the mixed greens alongside the cooked burger patties, adding sliced avocado and tomatoes as desired.
