Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- Once the water is boiling, add your dried pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- With about 2-3 minutes left in the pasta cooking time, gently add the broccoli florets to the pot.
- Before draining, carefully reserve about ¾ cup of the pasta cooking water.
- In the same pot, pour in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds.
- Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Pour in reserved pasta water while whisking.
- Return the drained pasta and broccoli to the pot, tossing in the sauce. Add ½ cup of shredded Parmesan and mix well.
- Taste and adjust seasonings. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.
