Step-by-Step Instructions for Soft & Chewy Sugar Cookies
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 ¾ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together ¾ cup of softened unsalted butter and 1 ½ cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Blend in one large egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ½ teaspoon of almond extract.
